Why wont musicians work together?
Being in a band and trying to promote your own music can be very challenging!
Finding the time and energy can be especially difficult when you want to collaborate with other bands or 
musicians. I have been attempting to find other performers to work with locally and on the internet. People who don’t mind supporting other groups in exchange for getting supported. I use Facebook, ReverbNation and various alternative networking tools. Sometimes I find it hard to get the support I need even from my own fans who claim to love and adore me.
I would like to work with a multitude of artists. I want to create a solid base of musicians who will take the time to help fellow performers. This could include such things as getting them get votes, LIKEs, press or CD releases. A team of online professional mentors from numerous backgrounds and experiences.
This will allow us to eventually build a strong network of local acts!
We would then be able to put on our own shows and select our own venues as a collective group. If there is something needed this would be the place to ask for help in attaining it. If you have a question, concern or need some support….post here and we will brainstorm with you.
This won’t happen overnight, however the purpose of this thread is to try and see what type of support system we can produce. I would be very pleased to be able to simply click on a site, request assistance and have a think tank ready to help me resolve my issues. It is nice to know someone has your back. At the very least, you may get some valuable advice you may not have thought of on your own. Another benefit is the encouragement to carry on!

First off, let me say I support what you’re attempting here. As a musician, I definitely understand how hard it is to get the exposure you want and need to be successful other than inside your own bedroom. I will definitely be looking more into this program and reading up on more of your blogs. I also love finding ways to train yourself in being creative. I remember writing a philosophical essay about this back in college. Cool stuff 🙂
I wanted to point out one major reason why it is hard for musicians to work together, especially when you’re trying to use a large network of musicians, such as the internet. Many artists share related interests within music, but just as many have differences and frictions. That’s why it is very difficult for musicians to work together. Especially if they are used to being solo. They may not want the help, or feel they should be the prime contributor when it comes to collaborating with other musicians. That’s why it’s hard to make it as a band, and it’s even HARDER to maintain success once you have achieved. Here today, gone tomorrow. Happens all the time in music. Even when musicians try hard to collaborate together, and both want it to work out well, it still takes a lot of work to mold that chemistry into something special.
